INGREDIENTS |
CUSTARD
3 eggs
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups milk
nutmeg
| SIMPLE CARAMEL
¼ cup sugar |
PREPARATION
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
SIMPLE CARAMEL
Pour into custard cups to cover the bottom; set for 10 minutes to harden.
CUSTARD
Combine eggs, sugar, salt, nutmeg and vanilla in a small bowl; mix well until blended and thick.
Heat milk in a small pan until almost boiling; add to mix, beating well until smooth.
Place 6 custard cups in a large pan, filled with hot water. Pour custard mix into cups.
NOTES: Add marshmallow cream, mini marshmallows, or chocolate chips as a substitute to caramel; or as another layer. |
COOKING
SIMPLE CARAMEL
Using a ¼ cup sugar, in a small saucepan, over low heat, melt the sugar until golden. Stir Constantly.
CUSTARD
Place pan into oven and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. When done sprinkle with nutmeg. |
