Grandma Flo’s Candied Carrots

INGREDIENTS

2 lbs baby carrots
¼ cup butter
¼ cup brown sugar(packed)
¼ tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper(white)
1 cup water.

PREPARATION


CARROTS
Slice carrots into sticks, and put in a large saucepan with water.

CANDY GLAZE
Using the same pan, combine brown sugar, salt, pepper and butter.

Notes:
May use other vegetables in the same manner. If the vegetable is softer to start; omit boiling

COOKING


CARROTS
Bring carrots a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 min. or until crisp, yet tender. Strain and set aside.

CANDY GLAZE
Cook until butter has melted.

Add the carrots back to the mix and stir over medium heat, until glazed. About 5 minutes.
