Grandma Flo’s Italian Biscotti

INGREDIENTS

1 cube melted margarine
¾ cups sugar
3 eggs
1 jigger peach brandy
1 8oz bag sliced almonds
3 cups flour
1 egg yolk
1 tsp water.
1 tsp baking powder.

PREPARATION


Heat oven to 350 degrees

Mix all ingredients together. With flowered hands, divide the dough into loaves (9in x 5in x 1in est.). Brush loaves with one egg yolk and a tsp of water.

Cut loaves into 1” (one in.) slices. Place slices on their sides and continue baking.

COOKING


Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until firm to touch. Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes.

Once sliced, bake at 350 degrees for 15 min, or until lightly browned. Repeat on other side for 15 more minutes. Keep an eye not to burn.
